Some of you might know it as the LG Calisto. Never mind the name, it’s the same cute little fella we’re about to review in a sec. What makes it so interesting is not only the competitive price and decent feature set. We’re also curious to find how the blend of KS360 and Cookie works. It’s not about which one gets credit as the real predecessor, it’s what the offspring can do for you.
The LG GW520 is pretty much a Cookie with a real friendly QWERTY keyboard and fast data. The touchscreen size is the only downgrade so to say, but the full keyboard, 7.2 mbps HSDPA, push email and notifications and enhanced Widget UI are well worth the trade-off. Well, Cookie seems to rhyme quite well with QWERTY so far, now let’s see how long it’ll go.
LG has unveiled the LG GW520, a social networking device that adds something to the standard messaging experience offered by most cell phones. The GW520 features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that makes messaging convenient and a unique "push" social networking element to help people keep in touch.
With high-speed 4G HSDPA data connectivity, users can grab their email and attachments faster than ever. A 3 megapixel camera can take photographs that will appear vivid on the device's 2.8-inch touchscreen display.
The phone also includes LG's LiveSquare, which allows users to add custom animated characters to their homescreen to represent the friends and family they call the most. The GW520 'pushes' social networking updates to users so they're able to instantly see what their favorite people are up to, as well.
